Health and Safety Representative Training

HSRs will gain an understanding in:

• WHS legislative framework and its relationship to the HSR

• The role, function and powers of a HSR

• Participating in the resolution of WHS issues

• How to issue Provisional Improvement Notices

Skills HSRs obtain on this course include: how to negotiate WHS issues with management, incident investigation, hazard inspections, risk assessments, report writing and presentation of WHS findings.

Notes:

All HSRs have the legal entitlement to select which HSR training they will attend as long as the training provider is approved by the WHS regulator.

Under Section 72 of the WHS Act HSRs can choose which course they will attend in consultation with their PCBU.
